Gentry Humphrey
Gentry is a major influence of The Culture. His 30+ years of work in Nike/Jordan have played a big part in defining the ‘culture of cool’ when it comes to millennial consumers. He started his career in footwear in 1984 with the retailer, Nordstrom. Prior to Gentry, this retailer focused on casual & dress shoes. It was Gentry who introduced the Athletic Department to the famed retailer. He started his illustrious career with Nike in 1990 where he has worked on a veritable plethora of projects, ranging from reinvigorating the Air Jordan line after Michael Jordan‘s first retirement to pushing Jordan Brand to begin its retro initiative in the late ’90s. Known for his ability to create innovative concepts, compelling stories, and unique visual expressions, Gentry is bringing a refreshing juxtaposition of sneakers, lifestyle, art, and fashion to the casual footwear world while introducing innovative ways to connect to consumers.
